This impressive four-person retreat offers lavish accommodation on the cusp of Matlock. Situated amongst a cauldron of hills, Matlock is a sparkling jewel in Derbyshire's crown. Once a thriving destination for spa waters in the Victorian era, today Matlock boasts an array of attractions including eateries, independent shops and the beautiful Hall Leys Park. Matlock Bath lies a short distance away (1.5 miles), perhaps best known for the annual illuminations that run from September to late October as well as the beautiful little Switzerland Gorge and cable cars. For history enthusiasts, the tram museum at Crich with its two-penny rides is a must, but you’ll also have iconic destinations such as Chatsworth House (8.5 miles), Bolsover Castle (16 miles) and the Peak Railway Heritage Line (3 miles) to enjoy.
Traditional from the outset with its old stone walls and beamed doorways, the interiors of the property have been thoughtfully styled with comfort in mind. Soothing lighting, sleek furniture and oak flooring set the scene, whether you are cooking in the compact yet excellently equipped kitchen or snuggling up to watch films on the sofas. The first bedroom is downstairs, providing a welcome retreat for weary guests with an en suite shower room, a TV, and twin beds that can be pushed together and made up as a super king size bed on request. A winding pine staircase reveals the first-floor bedroom that has high vaulted ceilings and a crisply-dressed king size bed. There’s a TV for watching your favourite shows in bed, and the adjacent bathroom has state of the art fixtures and fittings such as waterfall taps, a deep bath and a separate shower.
Step outside and bask in the views from the comfort of your garden, dining alfresco or sipping your first coffee of the day in the sunshine. Mainly set to gravel, there is also a parking area with space for three cars.
