Get out and about in the Peak District National Park with this historic stone farmhouse as your base. Sleeping eight people in four bedrooms, it’s an ideal choice for a family gathering or a group of friends getting together, with plenty of room to spread out inside and extensive grounds to explore.

Kick off your boots in the spacious utility room and head into the heart of the house, the fabulous kitchen, which has all the equipment you’ll need to cater for larger gatherings. When you’re ready to eat, lay the table in the dining room and enjoy a celebratory meal. Choose between the lounge and the snug for relaxing; the latter has a Smart TV and a flame-effect fire. The bedrooms are divided between the first and second floors, with a striking empress-sized room on the top floor that boasts an en-suite shower room and a walk-in wardrobe. One of the bedrooms on the first floor also has an en-suite shower room, and there’s a family bathroom on this floor that’s shared by the other two bedrooms. The enclosed gardens include mature trees and large areas of lawn, as well as a patio where you can dine al fresco, or simply sit in the sun with a coffee and a book.

For a range of independent shops and places to eat, the historic town of Ashbourne is 5 miles away, while there’s a fabulous country pub just over 1 mile away. For walking experiences, the Dovedale walk (which starts from the car park 3.5 miles away) is said to be one of the best in the Peak District, and Beresford Dale National Nature Reserve (accessed from the village of Hartington, 10.5 miles), is a peaceful area of riverside paths, weirs, woodland, wildflowers and birdlife.
