The cottage is just 2.5 miles from the bustling market town of Bakewell. The largest town in the Peak District is packed with photogenic stone buildings and has an impressive five-arched stone bridge over the River Wye. After a potter around the winding streets, pop into a cute tearoom to sample the town’s iconic pudding. From Bakewell you can access the Monsal Trail, an idyllic, traffic-free walking trail through the limestone dales. While away several hours at Chatsworth House, wandering around the grand rooms inside the house and enjoying long, countryside walks through the 105-acre estate.
